Okay, that was eventful-- mostly in the last half hour or so.

I've been worried-- or more like fatalistically expecting-- that May would die at season's end, so I was quite encouraged by the ending of the first episode. May is saved and reunited with the boys. Psycho chick, Ketch, and Margaret Thatcher are all dead at the hands of Ketch, Mary, and Sheriff Jody respectively. Now we can move on to Lucifer. But things did not go so well in part two.

Okay, so Mary's not dead, which means there is still hope. But the last time we saw her she was upon to be sprang upon by a thoroughly enraged Lucifer after she pounded him back through the wormhole with magical brass knuckles, trapping him in the Post-Apocalyptic Mirror Universe. That's a hell of a cliffhanger all by itself. If she's going to survive, something drastic will have to happen in the next half second. I'm guessing that Mirror Lucifer will intervene. I guess it really depends on if they actually want Mary to continue on the show.

And we got to see Mirror Bobby, looking like Khan on Ceti Alpha V. Man, I love Bobby, in all universes. :D

And then there's Crowley. Even before that re-humanizing ritual a couple of years ago, he was pretty soft hearted for the King of Hell-- he's been called on it many times, and he's tried to prove it's not true, but now he's finally owned up to it. He threw his lot in with the boys in flannel, admitted he wasn't interested in ruling Hell, and even offered to close the gates permanently. And then ultimately gave his own life to defeat Lucifer. A nice ending for the character if he's really done, but I hope he does find a way to come back.

Castiel, on the other hand, I'm pretty positive will come back. He's like Captain Scarlet. It doesn't matter how many times he dies, he somehow manages to recover no matter what. Undoubtedly it will have something to do with the new kid on the block.

Speaking of which, he's kind of creepy, sitting there in the corner in the dark like that. But I have a feeling that he will not be evil, as Lucifer hoped and expected, but probably not as good as Castiel believed-- he's going to be trouble, but the question is what kind of trouble?

And the other question is, why did that portal to Wasteland World appear like that. It seems a little too specific and convenient to be a random sign of a Nephilim birth. I'm betting we'll find out that the kid provided it, either deliberately or instinctively, to give the boys a place to banish Lucifer because the kid didn't want Daddy around. Season Thirteen looks like it will be quite interesting.

^^ There's only one problem -- Crowley was using Roweena's spell to return Lucifer to The Cage. What the heck happened with that?

Other than that, there were quite a few twists I did *NOT* see coming! :conf:

I thought he was using it to close up the wormhole and trap Lucifer on the other side, but it took too long.

I thought it was interesting that Lucifer could withstand the angel killing bullets. I wonder if he and/or Mary will be able to return from the alternate reality.

I don't think anything can kill an Archangel, except maybe the Colt-- which is now in desperate need of repair.

I'll bet Sam and Dean figure out a way to rescue Mary-- and Lucifer escapes in the bargain. Possibly by using Mary as a vessel.

Ah, well, that's a shame. I would have enjoyed seeing Crowley develop after the insights of the finale. He was always great to have around.

Now that's the way to do a Supernatural spin off. There are lots of great characters that they could use and Sheriff Jody is at the top of the list. Great title, too. :cooldude:
