Sweet!

The commercial kind of spoils Sam's cliffhanger, though. But this looks like we'll be off to a cool start. Mom Winchester on the team, the British Invasion-- good stuff.

I had forgotten a British Women of Letters had cast Castiel out of the bunker and shot Sam at the end of last season. And, as Sam said, he'd been through so much their efforts to torture him are for naught. Interesting how her cohort had brass knuckles warded against angels, but Mary stepped up and took her out. Returning after having been dead for 30+ years is quite a lot for her to process.

I loved Castiel's landing. But the scene where Mary was staring lovingly at Baby's backseat will go down in history as one of my all-time favorite Supernatural scenes.

I hope they get a lot of mileage out of Mary's culture shock, but I hope she gets over her dislike of the lifestyle quickly. The dynamics of a threesome composed of two brothers and their younger mother will be great, and I want her to be a permanent part of the team, not just a plot for the season.

I'm not as happy with the British MOL as I expected. Sure, they're doing their job and they have a nice proactive approach, but the fact that they've been watching Sam and Dean without ever offering assistance, and the fact that they so eagerly torture people, does not make them very sympathetic.

Hopefully, the story and direction of the British MoL is better than the Leviathan storyline. The writer had to extricate themselves from that one rather quickly as it stunk.

The Leviathan season was definitely the low point of the show. That was especially disappointing, since I was looking forward to the inclusion of Lovecraftian elements in the mythology. But this is the result when a show tries to one up itself every season-- the Leviathans were originally presented as simply too overwhelmingly powerful. There's no way the human race, let alone the Winchesters, could have done anything against them. By the end of the season, the Leviathans had literally turned into comic relief. Also, that season gave us the death of Bobby, one of the two biggest mistakes that the show has ever made.

Do you still like pie?

Pretty good episode. Lucifer is back "in full form" and the Brits are up to something.

I really hope they intend for Mary to become a permanent part of the cast and not just a plot for this season. She really adds to the dynamic and draws out fundamental aspects of Sam and Dean. And of course there's the humor in the culture shock of traveling thirty years into the future. "Let's call the Internet!"

The new British MOL guy seems more reasonable than Blondie, but he's still not what I'd call a good guy-- it's ironic that they feel American Hunters have been infiltrated, given how corrupt they are. I just hope it finally leads to Sam and Dean re-establishing the MOL. I've been hoping for that since they found the bunker.

That may be how the show concludes, which would be a fairly good ending. After all, Blondie mentioned every entry in England is warded to alert the British MoL group of monsters attempting to enter the country.

I wonder if they are as effective as she claims, or thinks. It all seems a rather negative allegory for immigration.

Hmmm. Roweena double-crossed Lucifer and Mary needs time to get her bearings back on earth. Not a bad episode.

Rick Springfield is not disposed of that easily. Good plan, though. Accelerate host burnout and send him to the bottom of the ocean.

I wasn't so happy with Mary leaving. I'm sure she's not gone for good, but I really want her to become a permanent part of the team for the rest of the series.

I forgot to mention I laughed heartily when Sam motioned toward the radio (in the car), and Mary cranked it. Seems she and Dean are quite alike.

Yikes. The British MOL really screwed up that optimistic ending.

On a happier note, Dean seems to be dealing with his angst in record time.

How the heck was the hitman able to kill a psychic so easily? Also, why was she considered "The Winchesters' mess"?

She didn't really seem all that psychic. She didn't sense Sam outside or know that her mother was planning a murder-suicide. I think all she could do was control stuff with her mind.

According to the BMOL protocols, there is zero tolerance for supernatural phenomena and only one remedy. When the boys let the girl live, she became their "mess." They're not a very tolerant bunch.

As Dean would say, the latest episode was crap. I honestly believe it was the worst of the worst. Killing Hitler? :wtf:
