Sea Creature Lounge - The Fall of the Autumn!

Postby RJDiogenes » Sat Oct 15, 2016 6:36 pm

Once again, the Sea Creature Lounge and all of its Flora and Fauna have traversed the wormhole to another pocket universe, one step ahead of statistically improbable mass proton decay. Thank you, Flora and Fauna. There will be a little something extra in your paychecks this week.

This week the Sea Creature Lounge Drive-In Creature Double Feature is bringing you a Public Service Announcement. Did you know that every year more than ten billion people are lost to alien abductions, kidnappings by Satanic cults, changeling incidents, and the heartbreak of quantum entanglement? You could be next and te one thing that can save you is awareness. Our theme tonight is: "Know Your Snatcher: Are They From Hell Or Just Regular?" The concession stand called in sick for some reason. I hope you brought something.

Ah, a new lounge! It's good the pool in the last one was getting mosquitoes in it. The first one looks more like Body Snatchers from space rather than hell. Or maybe it was a hell of a space?
I've seen the second one ages ago.

Yeah, that first trailer made no sense whatsoever.

I'm pretty sure Body Snatcher (regular) is on my Boris Karloff DVD set.

The pocket universe is a pretty small place as universes go, pretty much the same size as that strange Möbius strip dimension in Arthur C Clarke's "The Wall of Darkness." But in the world that the pocket universe links to as a source of B-Movies for the Sea Creature Lounge Drive-In Creature Double Feature, there's a lot of places, including foreign countries where they also make really bad motion pictures. Our theme this week is, "Don't Worry, These Things Wouldn't Make Any Sense Even If You Spoke The Language." The concession stand will be serving wurst, sauerkraut, pretzels, und viel bier.

Eolomea looks kind of trippy. :loopy: I'd like to see it. Amazingly I've actually seen Der Schweigenden Stern. It's on one of the cheapy DVD sets dad used to buy through the mail. On the DVD however it's titled First Spaceship on Venus. It's actually not a bad film.

Then I probably have it. I've got several of those sets.

"Viel bier" is actually German for "lotsa beer." :D

As the annual celebration of Halloween approaches on cat's feet, a major holiday in the pocket universe, we were at the Sea Creature Lounge Drive-In Creature Double Feature would like to extend our thanks to those out there in the world who still appreciate those vintage B-Movies enough to keep on making them. This week's theme: Let's Also Do The Time Warp Again. In fact, let's have a Creature Quadruple Feature. Because cats have four feet. Or something. The concession stand will be serving leftovers. I hope you brought your microwave.

Creepshow is one of those movies I keep hearing about but have never managed to see. I think you made mentioned of The House of the Wolf Man recently. Haven't seen it yet. I haven't heard of the others.

Ah, Creepshow is beautiful. The perfect homage to EC Horror comics. I wish someone would do something as good for their Sci Fi. I probably did mention House of Wolf Man, because I've had that one for several years. The other two I just found out about when I was looking around for something to get for Halloween.

The pocket universe is pretty small and kind of runs itself, so we don't need a real government here, but the outside world is not so lucky. In the next few days, there will be an election of new leaders that may turn out catastrophically. Or possibly worse. Luckily, we at the Sea Creature Lounge Drive-In Creature Double Feature are no strangers to battles between monsters that can have no good outcome. This week's theme: "Whoever wins, YOU DIE!" If you need a snack for the show, check out the vending machines in the foyer-- the concession stand staff just moved to Canada.

All movies should get bonus points if the word "Vs" appears in the title  . The Werewolf Vs the Vampire Woman looks particularly good.

Indeed. :D

The Werewolf Vs the Vampire Woman looks particularly good.

I thought so, too. I couldn't find it on YouTube, so I put the DVD in my Shopping Cart. It is also available on Amazon video, so I might just watch it that way at some point.

Good idea, though. It looks like it's one of those Paul Naschy films, which I've heard of in magazines, but I don't think I've ever seen one.

They say that the basic conceit of democracy is that a whole bunch of people together are smarter than one person alone. Whoever came up with that has obviously never been to a staff meeting. Due to recent events in the outer world, the Sea Creature Lounge Drive-In Creature Double Feature will be building a wall across the wormhole to the pocket universe-- just as a precaution. Meanwhile, this week's theme is "President Evil." Enjoy. The concession stand will be serving humble pie.

President Wolfman looks like a total blast! :veryhappy: Though funny enough I think there was a B-movie out there about a werewolf in Washington. On Elvira's Movie Macabre maybe?

There's a movie called Werewolf of Washington. I'm not sure if I already posted it or if I haven't been able to find a trailer. I'm pretty sure it's on my list.

The trailer for President Wolfman cracked me up. I have to track that one down.

Normally, we don't allow children into the Sea Creature Lounge Drive-In Creature Double Feature. It's not because we don't like children, but merely because-- as anyone who has ever met or been a child knows-- they are horrid little creatures of pure evil who will kill you in your sleep and steal the toy prize from your Cracker Jacks. It's a scientific fact. And this week's theme, "Get Off My Lawn, You Little Rats," will prove it. The concession stand will be selling Cracker Jacks, with a guaranteed toy prize in every box.

Arh! Rug rats are evil! I've always had a lifetime of distrust for children. Even as a child I distrusted myself.

Haven't seen either of these, though the Space Children does look vaguely familiar.

The denizens of the Sea Creature Lounge Drive-In Creature Double Feature are all animal lovers. We like to protect wild animals from extinction, keep animals as pets, and watch videos of cute animals on YouTube. But even we recognize that having your DNA merged with that of an animal might cross the line into too much of a good thing. HG Wells predicted this potential problem in a novel in the late 19th century and people have been making make movie adaptations about it ever since, because delivers a dire warning about the potential problems with an experimental technology like poor cinema. This week's theme is "How Many Times Can We Make HG Wells Roll Over In His Grave?" The concession stand will be serving a bunch of stuff from Purina.
