Perchance to Dream....

Even wilder and wackier than pre-crash Miscellaneous, the survivors talk about the weather, puppies, work, and coffee.

I managed it a couple of times, but it rarely lasts.

Last night I remember something about wandering around somewhere, but I was in a wheelchair. Don't remember why but I was telling people I was going to get better.
Oddly I woke this morning with a stiff back.

^^

I know I've been dreaming a lot lately, but I've just been waking up with vague impressions that disappear. Last night, I kind of remember looking through giant stone arches at a river or lake with grassy plains beyond.

Actually, it was. It was rather otherworldly and peaceful. I should try to recreate it as art.

Bits and pieces of last night. I remember being with someone and being offered tickets to Notorious (Hitchcock's I'm assuming), but I wasn't sure if I really liked the film (in RL, it's OK but not great). In the end I got a ticket regardless but woke before I could see it. After I got back to sleep I remember a snippet where I was watering and a small sinkhole opened up. In another I took off my shoe and found two large scorpions in it. :Ahhh:

Just remember the last few moments from last night. I was out at sea with low clouds overhead and I was surrounded by old time sailing ships. There was lighting and when the clouds would get illuminated I could see even more tall ships in the distance.
Then somehow I was in a capsized ship trying to swim to the surface, with scuba divers trying to rescue people. However I found that I couldn't hold my breath and kept trying to breath underwater- which ended up jolting me awake.

Wow, that's scary, but some nice imagery with the lightning and ships.

I've been waking up with enough fading impressions to know that I've been dreaming, but not much else. The clearest memory I have from last night is walking down Bayley Terrace, past the old house, holding my cat in my arms. The mood was a bit gloomy, like a gray Autumn day, and everything seemed deserted. I think my cat was talking to me.

Weird one last night. All that I can remember is that our stray cat, Mystery Cat, actually turned out to be several identical cats and they all decided to show up at once, so there were 8 or so Mystery Cats wandering around.

^^ That's actually pretty cool. :D

I forgot to post a couple of days ago that Trump invaded my dream. It was kind of a hospital dream, in the sense that I was wandering around corridors doing administrative things, and then I had to go to Trump's office, because he was now in charge. The office had two giant rooms-- one room was just a regular office, with a desk and chairs and so on, but the other room was a meeting room with a long table where a bunch of UN representatives were sitting and arguing. The meeting room also had a "kid's table" where a bunch of assistants were sitting. I knew them from real life, but I don't remember now who they were. Trump was bumbling around like he didn't know where to go or what to do, and I kept asking him if he needed help with such-and-such (one thing was "the education program" was one of them, but I forget the others). He kept saying he was fine and I kept thinking, "This moron is going to ruin everything."

Frustration dreams last night. In one I was making my bed, but for some reason there were multiple beds under it and after taking everything apart I couldn't figure out how to put it all back together. In another dream I went outside to find that all the weeds I had pulled a few weeks ago came back, bigger and tougher than before.

^^ Uh oh, that's the story from Creepshow.

Vague memories of a typical hospital dream last night. The only part I really remember is somebody telling me that there had been a shooting outside.

A school dream variation last night. It's was one of the ones where I'm getting ready to go to school, only to realize that I'm really too old to go to school, and wondering why I should be going at all, all the while the bus is coming and I have to make a decision to actually go or not. In this dream though I was living in a house that had a nice atrium in it that led to a pleasant walled garden. Wonder Woman might have been around, but I can't remember why. :conf:

That's interesting. That's the sort of thing that usually leads to a lucid dream for me.

I have vague images from last night of being in a large room, somewhat like a done-over barn, with wide windows overlooking a nice, hilly countryside covered with forest. It was a sunny day, but suddenly there was some kind of microburst that blew in one of the windows, scattering papers and getting everything wet. There was also a girl from high school there for some reason. We were on the Yearbook Staff together, and she was cute, but I was never especially interested in her. She was saying something about having a medical condition.

^I wonder if she does in RL.

As for last night, all I remember is tending the chickens and for some reason expected that one of the eggs they laid would hatch out a dinosaur.

I had a dream last night that I think was a long one, but I only remember the ending. I was hiking on an unfamiliar trail through some woods with my camera. There were some other hikers, but not with me. The trail led upward until we finally got to some rocky terrain where the trees gave out. At the crest of the rocky hill, there was a view that stretched out forever of valleys and hills and mountains that was just amazing. And I had no trouble with my camera.

And it looks like I forgot to post one from a couple of nights ago. I was in a kind of an office, but it was in a small building and had mostly glass walls on two sides. My Sister was there. Outside the window, on the other side of a little park, was a small mall or galleria (kind of like one in Harvard Square). Suddenly thunderstorms moved in quickly and there was thunder and lightning, and the galleria was hit-- the entire top floor burst into flames. My Sister was calling 911 and I took out my phone to take a video, but the rain put out the fire before I could even bring up the app.
