Wow. I wonder if that will become more common as the climate changes.

Sadly it's becoming less common. The Mojave River has been known to flood. Several years ago it got bad enough to destroy a few homes along it. But that's been years and years ago.

Yikes. I don't want to see flooding, just a regular river that always has water. Maybe it's better if it stays dry.

This morning it was already 45 when I got up, so I decided to head down to the beach, which I haven't done for a long time. I actually went down to Moswetuset, which has a little rocky beach of sorts, and got some really nice pictures:

Thank you very much. I actually have thought about publishing a volume of art and photography. I have to see what formats Amazon publishing has available.

Perhaps a classical printed book would be better in this case, resolution-wise.

I'm pretty sure Lulu has a nice glossy format, so I might go with that. I'll have to see if Amazon has anything comparable, and also see what I can manage for a cover price through each of them.

I like the filename. Can you put up another shot from the same spot to compare?

Cool! I love the frogs in the pond.

Nice. I hope he's a light-colored one. :D

Looks like your butterfly is propably going to be a Small Tortoiseshell :butterfly:
I love frogs! There's a pond not far from my apartment and in spring and summer I often go there in the evenings to enjoy an hour of frog concert before turning in.

I love listening to frogs. It is one of the things I am going to miss about the camper. I do have a few frogs in my pond, but they haven't come out of hibernation, yet.

I like the palm tree, but you are right, it is in a bad spot. It's too bad it wasn't planted in one of the back corners of the yard.

RJ, those are gorgeous pictures of the sunrise. Is it OK if I steal them? Especially the top one.

Thats is what i thought Cayla - Dad was NOT the best landscaper despite being a gardener by trade for over 50 years and he did NOT plan the yard at all the way i would have... Hence some major reconstruction this year - byebye palm tree, ivy pole, shed.....hello space, rose/yew-hedge and time to decide what goes where the shed is.... a bench for two butts or rip the wood/brick flooring out and plant a cherry tree? I will try to take an after shot RJ - dont think i have done yet....
as for frogs.... with my bedroom small window eternally open, i hear them whenever they croak - they have been up and 'at it' for one day, but surfacing and reviving for 3-4. Nom idea yet, huggle - all i know ios a caterpillar I popped in the veggie scraps and forgot to take outside decided to crawel over my ceiling and pupate above the fridge! will be interesting to see what it actually is......soon.

Me, too. I'll have a frog pond when I get my own property, when I retire. Hopefully.

Madeliaette, your dad knew how to take care of the plants, but not where to place them. :D Your view does look better without the palm tree. Now you have that huge space, where it once was, to add new plants.

^ exactly - but i dont want to put more plants there - I want it open and empty. there is too much crasmmed into the yard, even if it is big - a poly tunnel, shed, pond, patio, bird feeding stuff - i want NOTHINGNESS! so will plant bird seed and let the dropped bird seeds mingle and have a sort of edible meadow for the birds to enjoy in the center of the yard, shrubs can stay up the left but the ivy post is going, the patio can be filled in and have a box-seat for garden tyool storage, the right side will be a yew/rose/other stuffhedge with flowers in front and a herb patch with the seed-meadow in front the pond and bits n pieces behind, the poly tunnel i want to keep - but vut back the apple tree and take out the smaller one - anbd rip out that wretched shed that took forever to build and is already useless - to be replaced by either a cherry tree or garden seat. the very back will be ivy covered ad WILD! i know what i think will look good......lol :D
