I hope you like it. I think it's very cool to see what the sky looks like on Ganymede or look back at the Sun from Alpha Centauri.

^And there is a feature that tells you how far away stars are from any star you select.

Didn't get much done yesterday. Had a bout of depression and after researching travel time between stars and the affects of Relativity I realized that I'm going to have to re-work the structure of the plot. By the time I get done re-writing Kamchatka it's going to be a wholly different book.

Sending out more queries including to one guy who said I could just query him direct. Ugh, that one's the scariest of them all.

And I just got my first no. There will be many many more coming.

And Hyperlight 6 is released. :D

I always said it would be around six books, so actually I've finished the original story I intended to write. (That of Earth's First Contact with aliens who look like human myths and legends.) However, there's more to be told in this universe.

Book Seven is on the drawing board, after which I want to plot out a new arc. Meanwhile I'll be getting those short stories finished and ready for release. :)

However, book 7 will have to wait until most likely August; I have holiday coming up, and I don't like breaking off midway through writing a book for two weeks. So until then, I'll concentrate on the shorts. :D

The Hyperlight Universe is as complex and detailed as Star Trek and any other SF universe, if not moreso (well, maybe not Spacious Skies ;)). There's unlimited potential for storytelling. So there's no need to stop. :D

2500 so far today. This particular story is taking a lot of research - I'm not a historian! :p

Research included:

- Ancient Celtic tribes
- Founding of Canterbury
- Crops grown in southern England during the Iron Age
- Roman invasion of Britain

^That sounds like it's going to be good. I've had a bit of a fascinating with Roman Britain since I first read Mary Stewart's "Merlin" series.

I love research. I have a tendency to get lost in it, especially since Wiki came along. :loopy:

Did some writing and some research for Kamchatka. The Celestia program RJ recommended is coming in handy. In the original story the main character realizes at one point that the ship he's one didn't arrive at 70 Ophiuchus and uses a stellar calculator to find Sol and Alpha Centauri so he can find just where the ship ended up. In the old days before the internet I had to use my astronomy books and fumble my way through some numbers. Turns out I was right about Sol being in the constellation Aquarius (as viewed from Wolf 359). But I was off a little for Alpha Centauri placing it within Microscopium rather than Piscis Austrinus.

All of that would have been quite impossible for me. I'm glad you're finding Celestia useful.

Camp's begun so I'm focusing on cramming all that word count in. Not that I wasn't before, but I guess it's more fancy now.
